Today I had an Xbox One OG on the bench that threw an instant red LED on the PSU once plugged to the unit. This led me to a short of some kind on the board. After opening the unit and confirming that it was on the 12v standby rail I cracked out the thermal camera and injected 1v into the 12v rail to find the shorted component.It ended up being a capacitor short to ground which also took out the diode and power reg on the same line.

Once the capacitor was removed the short was relieved and I was able to also diagnose the other 2 nearby components needing replacing. Once replacing all 3 components,the console was back up and running. Happy days
