Had a difficult repair come through that was not the usual WiFi/BT module being faulty and not allowing a controller to sync to the console.

I replaced the WiFi/BT module twice,thinking the first one was also faulty but still had no sync. I then replaced the Southbridge in hope that that may have been the issue,but still no sync.

I dug a little deeper and found this test pad short to ground when it should have been showing 1.8-2v. I removed the cap and the power reg but the short still remained.

I traced the line to a cap on the other side of the board that was the issue,removed it and the short was relieved. Replaced the cap but still had no sync and no 2v on the test pad. I replaced the regulator and 2v was back and so was controller sync. Another happy customer 😊
